Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Act. Increases the lifetime benefit limitation from $1,500,000 to $2,000,000. Effective immediately.

House Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the engrossed bill with the following changes. Amends the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Act. Provides that a person shall not be eligible for coverage under the Plan if the Plan (i) until 3 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act has paid a total of $2,000,000 in benefits on behalf of the covered person or (ii) 3 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act has paid a total of $1,500,000 in benefits on behalf of the covered person (instead of providing that ineligibility under the Plan exists if the Plan has paid a total of $2,000,000 in benefits on behalf of the covered person). Provides that major medical expense coverage offered by the Plan shall pay an eligible person's covered expenses, subject to specified limitations, up to a lifetime benefit limit of $2,000,000 until 3 years after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General Assembly, and $1,500,000 in benefits 3 years or more after the effective date of the amendatory Act per covered individual (rather than up to a lifetime benefit limit of $1,500,000 per covered individual). Effective immediately.

House Amendment No. 3
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the engrossed bill, as amended by House Amendment No. 1, with the following changes. Adds benefits to be covered under the Plan that are provided for under specified provisions of the Illinois Insurance Code. Removes a provision excluding covered expenses under the Plan shall not include any expense or charge for oral contraceptives used for birth control or any other temporary birth control measures. Effective immediately.
