Synopsis As Introduced
Amends provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code requiring each school bus to display at the rear of the bus a sign indicating the telephone number of the owner of the school bus. Deletes language providing that the sign shall indicate that the number is to be called to report erratic driving by the school bus driver. Adds language requiring that the sign shall be in the form "TO COMMENT ON MY DRIVING, CALL (area code and telephone number of school bus owner)". Effective January 1, 2008.

House Amendment No. 1
Changes the effective date to January 1, 2009.

House Amendment No. 2
Allows a school bus owner who placed a sign conforming to prior law on a school bus before the effective date of the amendatory Act to continue to use that sign, but if the school bus owner replaces that sign, the replacement sign shall conform to the requirements of the amendatory Act.
