Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Military Family Interstate Compact Implementation Statute Drafting Advisory Committee Act. Creates the Committee as an interagency advisory committee to develop a comprehensive statute to implement the Model Interstate Compact on Military Families. The Lieutenant Governor is the chair of the Committee. Designates other members. Requires a report to the General Assembly. Effective immediately.

House Amendment No. 1
Provides that the Committee shall develop a comprehensive statute to implement the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children (instead of the Model Interstate Compact on Military Families). Requires the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to provide staff and administrative support to the Committee.

Fiscal Note, House Amendment No. 1 (Office of the Lieutenant Governor)
This legislation will not require the expenditure of State funds or decrease State revenues.

House Amendment No. 2
Adds reference to:
20 ILCS 2805/30 new
820 ILCS 405/601from Ch. 48, par. 431

Amends the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Creates the Task Force on Servicemember and Veterans Education. Sets forth the membership of the Task Force and the duties of the Task Force. Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act to provide that a person is not ineligible for benefits if he or she left employment to accompany a spouse reassigned from one military assignment to another, but the employer's account shall not be charged.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the Military Family Interstate Compact Implementation Statute Drafting Advisory Committee shall have as one of its members a designee from the Department of Employment Security (instead of from the Department of Labor).
