Synopsis As Introduced
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Public Health for grants for research on autoimmune diseases. Effective July 1, 2008.

House Amendment No. 1
Adds an appropriation of $350,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Public Health for the purposes of the Arthritis Prevention, Control, and Cure Act.

 Fiscal Note (Dept. of Public Health)
 Costs would be only for reviewers of grants and grants: (1) Contractual expenses for medical research reviewers, estimated 6 reviewers @$5,000 per - $30,000 advisory committee = $30,000; (2) Travel expenses for staff and/or reviewers @$500/month = $6,000; (3) Staff supplies @$50 per month X 12 = $600; (4) Telecommunications $150 month (includes teleconference) = $1,800; (5) Research grants = $961,600. Total Fiscal Impact = $1,000,000.00.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Appropriates $2 from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority for its FY 09 ordinary and contingent expenses. Effective July 1, 2008.
