Synopsis As Introduced
Requires the Director of Corrections, on behalf of the State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections, to convey, by quit claim deed, all right, title, and interest of the State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections in and to certain real estate to Peoria County. Effective immediately.

House Amendment No. 1
Amends the bill to provide that the conveyance shall be made subject to the condition that title to the buildings and the land shall revert to the State of Illinois, Department of Corrections, if Peoria County ceases to use the buildings and the land for a public purpose.

Governor Amendatory Veto Message
Recommends that the conveyance shall be made subject to the condition that if Peoria County ceases to use the buildings and land for a public purpose, Peoria County shall pay to the State fair market value for the buildings and the land as appraised at such time (instead of title to the buildings and the land shall revert to the State of Illinois). Deletes a provision that states that the real estate conveyed is no longer needed by the State of Illinois.
