Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that forgery of a property deed is a Class 2 (rather than a Class 3) felony. Effective immediately.

Adds reference to:
730 ILCS 5/3-14-2from Ch. 38, par. 1003-14-2

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Creates the Access to Religious Ministry Act of 2008. Amends the County Jail Act. Provides that any county jail in the State of Illinois for which an intergovernmental agreement has been entered into with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for detention of immigration related detainees shall be required to provide to religious workers reasonable access to such jail. Provides that the sheriff or his or her designee shall have the right to screen and approve individuals seeking access to immigration detainees at the facility under the Act. Provides that the provisions of the Act are severable.
