Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that individual members of the board of trustees of certain villages may not hire a separate attorney using public funds unless the village attorney is disqualified from or recuses himself or herself from representing the member in his or her official capacity. Effective immediately.

Governor Amendatory Veto Message
Proposes to further amend the Illinois Municipal Code to provide that individual village trustees in villages organized under a commission form of government or a managerial form of government may not hire a separate attorney using public funds unless the village attorney is disqualified from or recuses himself or herself from representing the trustee in his or her individual capacity.
