Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning a school building code.

House Amendment No. 2

	Deletes reference to:
	105 ILCS 5/2-3.12

	Adds reference to:
	105 ILCS 5/10-20.46 new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the School Code. Encourages school boards to develop and pursue projects that meet the eligibility criteria specified by the Safe Routes to School Construction Program under the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and that are otherwise in conformity with applicable provisions of the School Code. Allows these projects to be financed with available unrestricted funds of the school district. Allows a school board to transfer funds as provided in the School Code to finance projects for these purposes. Encourages school boards to apply for funding for such projects through the Safe Routes to School Construction Program and other local, State, and federal funding sources.
