Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that the penalty for reckless homicide in which the defendant was operating a vehicle while willfully failing or refusing to comply with any lawful order or direction of any authorized police officer or traffic control aide engaged in traffic control is a Class 2 felony, for which a person, if sentenced to a term of imprisonment, shall be sentenced to a term of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years if the defendant caused death of one person and a Class 2 felony, for which a person, if sentenced to a term of imprisonment, shall be sentenced to a term of not less than 6 years and not more than 28 years if the defendant caused death of 2 or more persons. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that the assault of a person who is employed by a municipality and whose duties include traffic control is an aggravated assault. Effective immediately.
