Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

House Amendment No. 2
Deletes reference to:

Adds reference to:

P.A. 91-824, Sec. 20-10

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Authorizes the Department of Central Management Services to convey "surplus property" of the Chicago Read Mental Health Center to the City of Chicago or the Chicago Park District for $1. Provides that the property shall revert to the State if the grantee fails to use it for public purposes. Amends Public Act 91-824 to rescind the authority of the Department to convey the property to Chicago Read Joint Venture, Limited Partnership. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the engrossed bill with changes. Authorizes the Department of Central Management Services to convey certain "surplus property" to the City of Chicago or the Chicago Park District for $1. Provides that the property shall revert to the State if the property is not used for any public purpose within the first 10 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act or if the grantee fails to use it for public purposes at any time. Removes a provision of the engrossed bill that excludes buildings and grounds currently under the jurisdiction of the Department of Human Services unless specifically consented to by the Secretary of Human Services. Amends Public Act 91-824 to rescind the authority of the Department to convey the property to Chicago Read Joint Venture, Limited Partnership. Sets forth certain findings of the General Assembly with respect to rescinding the original authorization for that conveyance. Effective immediately.
