Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Director shall make grants to municipalities for the purpose of demolishing condemned housing. Defines "condemned housing". Effective July 1, 2007.

House Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
20 ILCS 605/605-960 new
Adds reference to:
415 ILCS 5/22.15a

Replaces the title and everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that the open dumping cleanup program includes removal actions with respect to structures or vacant properties condemned by units of local government. Effective immediately.

Fiscal Note, House Amendment No. 1 (Illinois Environmental Protection Agency)
HB 1467 (H-AM 1) would have a significant negative impact on Agency resources dedicated to the existing open dump cleanup program. While a precise estimate of the cost is difficult to make, this bill would require extraordinary funding to be effective throughout the State. $20 million would be a minimal appropriation to provide a program that could address a few structures in each community statewide.
