Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Trans Fat Disclosure Act. Provides that a restaurant or similar retail food establishment must mark any food containing 0.5 grams or more of trans fat with a label on its menu stating that the food contains trans fat. Provides that this requirement applies only to restaurants and similar retail food establishments with $20 million or more in annual gross sales. Requires the Department of Public Health to adopt rules to administer and enforce the Act.

House Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the bill as introduced with the following changes. Provides that a restaurant or similar retail food establishment must mark any food containing trans fat (instead of any food containing 0.5 grams or more of trans fat) with a label on its menu stating that the food contains trans fat.
