Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector Act. Exempts any facility licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act from the requirements of the Act.

House Amendment No. 1
Further amends the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector Act. Provides that, in the exemptions for residential units, any facility licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act or the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act or certified by the Department of Healthcare and Human Services, provided the facility is in compliance with relevant life safety code requirements and relevant licensure physical standards, is not required to have carbon monoxide detectors. Provides that the exclusion for the listed facilities shall not apply to the need for carbon monoxide detectors in laundry and kitchen areas.
