Synopsis As Introduced Prohibits the solicitation and making of campaign contributions by a business entity with annual aggregate contracts and bids with State agencies under the Governor in excess of $50,000, and by that business entity’s affiliates, on behalf of (i) a State executive branch constitutional officer, a General Assembly member, or a declared candidate for any of those offices and (ii) a political committee of a political party’s state central committee that is represented by a State executive branch constitutional officer or General Assembly member. Specifies the duration of the prohibition, means of enforcement, and penalties for violation, including termination of the procurement. Effective January 1, 2009 and applicable to procurements entered into on and after January 1, 2009.
