| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Clyde T. |
4 |
| Dehner of Alton, Illinois, who passed away on December 16, |
5 |
| 2006; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Clyde Dehner was born on February 9, 1924; his |
7 |
| parents were Frank and Mary (Spriggs) Dehner; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He married Marilyn Ann Barth on October 15, 1944 |
9 |
| in New York City; Mr. Dehner was a veteran of the United States |
10 |
| Navy, where he served from 1941 to 1947; he received seven |
11 |
| campaign ribbons and eight battle stars during his service in |
12 |
| World War II; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Dehner was retired as a pipefitter from Amoco |
14 |
| Oil Wood River Refinery after 32 years of service; he was a |
15 |
| lifetime member of VFW Post 1308 and a member of American |
16 |
| Legion Post 126, both in Alton; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, He was a longtime youth baseball coach and one of |
18 |
| the five founding members of the Alton Park and Recreation |
19 |
| Junior Baseball Program; he was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan; |
20 |
| and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Clyde T. Dehner is survived by his daughter, Diane |
22 |
| (Lief) Anderson; his son, Tom (Pat) Dehner; and his |
23 |
| grandchildren, Matt and Renee Anderson and Abby and Johnathan |
24 |
| Dehner; he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his |
25 |
| parents, Frank and Mary; and an infant son, John Carl Dehner; |
26 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |

| his family and friends, the death of Clyde T. Dehner; and be it |
