| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family of Donald A. Hughes, |
4 |
| who recently passed away; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Donald Hughes worked for United Airlines, then |
6 |
| moved on to oversee market research for Sears, retiring in |
7 |
| 1988; he then taught business at DePaul University, worked for |
8 |
| the Census Bureau, and did consulting for the Zurich |
9 |
| International Insurance Company; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He served in World War II with the United States |
11 |
| Army, spending a year in Germany; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He and his wife were travelers and enjoyed the |
13 |
| time they spent on vacation with one another; he was proud of |
14 |
| his Irish heritage and planted potatoes every year with his |
15 |
| grandchildren; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He was skilled in the kitchen, and his pies and |
17 |
| wine stew were both specialities; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Donald Hughes is survived by his wife, Adelaide; |
19 |
| his son, Patrick and his wife, Ann; his daughter, Kathy Taylor |
20 |
| and her husband, Gary; his grandchildren, Alexandra, |
21 |
| Katherine, Colleen, Brian, Bridget, Patrick, Evelyn, Sarah and |
22 |
| Victoria; and his sisters, Mary M. Hughes and Margaret Robben; |
23 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
26 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Donald Hughes of |
27 |
| Wilmette, Illinois; and be it further
