| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jean |
4 |
| Louise Desmond, who passed away on September 24, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Jean Louise Desmond was born and raised in Oak |
6 |
| Park; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She was a 1964 graduate of Oak Park River Forest |
8 |
| High School; she attended Rosary College for one year, then |
9 |
| completed her education at the University of Illinois at |
10 |
| Urbana-Champaign, receiving a Bachelor's degree in fine arts |
11 |
| and a Master's degree in library science; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, She was a university librarian, holding tenured |
13 |
| positions at the University of Illinois and John Carroll |
14 |
| University; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, She was an avid book reader, a fan of classic |
16 |
| movies, a collector of paper dolls and painted cels from |
17 |
| animated movies; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, She was a volunteer at the A.D.O.P.T. animal |
19 |
| shelter in Naperville and the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and |
20 |
| Museum in Oak Park; she is survived by her husband, Michael, |
21 |
| and her daughter, Clare; she was preceded in death by her |
22 |
| parents, Richard and Margie Louise (Robertson) Adair; |
23 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
26 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Jean Louise Desmond, and |
27 |
| extend our sympathies to them at this time; and be it further
|
28 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
