| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Robert E. Peterson on June |
4 |
| 8, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert E. Peterson was born on April 21, 1925, in |
6 |
| Halidayboro to Marion and Flora (Crawford) Peterson; he married |
7 |
| Barbara Jean Justice on April 18, 1949 in Carbondale; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson proudly served his country in the |
9 |
| United States Army during World War II, under the command of |
10 |
| General George Patton; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson worked for the United States Postal |
12 |
| Service for 31 years; he was a member and deacon of Goreville |
13 |
| First Baptist Church; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert E. Peterson has been deeply |
15 |
| felt by many, especially his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his |
16 |
| son, Larry (Terri Whitehead) Peterson; his daughter, Jean |
17 |
| Epperley; his grandsons, Mathew, Mark, and Michael Epperley; |
18 |
| his brother, Otis Peterson; and his several nieces and nephews; |
19 |
| and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, Robert E. Peterson was preceded in death by his |
21 |
| parents; his brothers, Harold, Albert, and Clyde Peterson; and |
22 |
| his sisters, Violet Jopplin and Reba Eaton; therefore, be it
|
23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Robert E. Peterson, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
26 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
27 |
