| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the passing of Harvey Headd, Jr. of |
4 |
| Centreville on June 9, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Harvey Headd, Jr., was born on August 2, 1951 in |
6 |
| Louisville, Mississippi to Harvey Headd, Sr. and Lucy Headd; he |
7 |
| obtained his primary education from the Louisville School |
8 |
| System and continued his education by attending Carpentry, |
9 |
| Electrical and Auto Mechanics trade school; he was one of the |
10 |
| most sought after tradesman in the area; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Headd was employed by Ford Motor Company and |
12 |
| Wayne Moody Construction Company both of Louisville, |
13 |
| Mississippi; in his off time, he enjoyed hunting and |
14 |
| socializing with his wide network of friends; he always had a |
15 |
| funny story or joke to share with everyone; he obtained the |
16 |
| nicknames of: ''June Bug'' and ''B.B. King'' for his often |
17 |
| amusing spirit; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Headd later relocated to Berkeley, California |
19 |
| where he resided for fifteen years; while there, he was the |
20 |
| owner of Head & Grimes Engineering and Electrical Company; he |
21 |
| also worked for Mike's Auto Body in San Leandro, California; |
22 |
| while in California, he was under the pastorship of Reverend |
23 |
| A.L. Cobbs, Sr., of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church; and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, Harvey Headd, Jr. married Ms. Essie Powe and |
25 |
| relocated to East St. Louis, Illinois; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Harvey Headd, Jr. has been deeply |
27 |
| felt by many, especially his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. |
28 |
| Essie Powe-Headd; his step-son, Walter Triplet; his |
29 |
| stepdaughter, Annette Powe; his stepgrandson, Walter Triplet, |
30 |
| Jr.; his extended family: Erma Morgan, Velma Liddell, Ethel |
