SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski
4 of Tower Lakes on June 10, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski was born on April 10, 1932, in
6 Syosset, Long Island, New York, to Leonard and Stella (nee
7 Ostafski) Kuskowski; he married Carol Ann Carbery on December
8 28, 1957, in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski graduated from Manhattan College
10 with a degree in electrical engineering in 1954; he worked as
11 an electrical engineer for A.I.L. in Mineola, New York, for 34
12 years and then for Northrup Grumman in Rolling Meadows, where
13 he retired in 1997; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski served the Village of Tower Lakes as
15 Trustee from 1995 to 2000 and as President from 2000 to 2006,
16 managing the business affairs of the community; during the last
17 several years, he continued his selfless volunteering in spite
18 of his battle with terminal illness; he also served a term as
19 President of the Barrington Area Council of Governments
20 (BACOG); and
 
21     WHEREAS, Mr. Kuskowski served in the United States Marine
22 Corps Reserves and was a member of St. Anne Church; his
23 lifelong passions were playing tennis and golf and spending
24 time with his family; and
 
25     WHEREAS, The passing of Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski is
26 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
27 Carol Ann (nee Carbery); his children, Barbara (Bill) Cordts,
28 Janet (David) Blake, Leonard J. Jr. (Anne) Kuskowski, Mary
29 (Tony) Magro, and John Kuskowski; his grandchildren, Billy,
30 Brian, James, and Tommy Cordts, Jacqueline, Steven, and

1 Alexander Blake, and A.J., Julie, and Gina Magro; and his many
2 nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents;
3 his sisters, Cele, Lee, and Florence; and his brother, Zigmond
4 Kuskowski; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7 Leonard J. "Len" Kuskowski, and we extend our sincere
8 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9 him; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
12 sympathy.
