SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of William M. "Billy" Proctor
4 of Peoria on Thursday May 11, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on December 5, 1928, in Peoria to
6 William L. and LaVerne (Jones) Proctor; he married Della Mae
7 Hutcherson; she preceded him in death in April of 2004; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Proctor worked for the U.S. Postal Service as
9 a mail carrier for 25 years and retired on December 5, 1988; he
10 valiantly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army
11 during the Korean War; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
13 Peoria and was a past Post Commander of the American Legion
14 Post #537; he was a 32nd degree Mason of the Henry Brown
15 Masonic Lodge #22 AF&AM and was a member of the Menelik #45
16 Consistory and Kamar Shrine Temple in Springfield; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The passing of William M. "Billy" Proctor has been
18 deeply felt by many, especially his daughters, Vonnie Renee
19 (and Robert) Adell, Antoinette "Toni" Gordon, L. Candice
20 Proctor, and Lynne (and Jerome) Costic; his stepson, whom he
21 raised, Kevin (and Denise) Hutcherson; his grandchildren,
22 Taria (and Brian) Oates, Ebony (and Gearld) Neasman, Ike (and
23 Cherie) Gordon, Kevin (and Katie) Gordon, Donnita Gordon,
24 Dannetta (and Tyrone) Green, Michael (and Laura) Costic, and
25 Aric Costic; his 35 great-grandchildren; his
26 great-great-grandchild; his nephews, Harry (and Jennette)
27 Proctor and Harold (and Carrie) Proctor; his niece, Marlene
28 Proctor; his aunt, Delores Hamilton; and his cousin, Mary
29 LaVerne Hamilton; in addition to his wife, he was preceded in
30 death by his brothers, Harold and Harry, and his son, Billy
31 McDonald; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 William M. "Billy" Proctor, and we extend our sincere
4 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5 him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
