| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Valerie |
4 |
| Elizabeth Sydnor of Waukegan, who passed away on April 19, |
5 |
| 2006; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Valerie Sydnor was born on October 19, 1977 in |
7 |
| Chicago; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She attended East West University in Chicago, |
9 |
| majoring in English and Psychology; she had plans to return to |
10 |
| school to finish her bachelor's degree; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor had a special love for children; she |
12 |
| began her career by working at St. Sabina's Daycare in Chicago |
13 |
| and followed with teaching at Shelia Daniel's Christian Academy |
14 |
| in Waukegan; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Valerie Sydnor was incredibly creative and had an |
16 |
| awesome talent for the creative arts; she received many |
17 |
| honorable awards for poetry and had one of her poems, "Black |
18 |
| Rose", published; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor was active in her faith; she was |
20 |
| baptized at an early age and was an active member of The Sign |
21 |
| of the Dove Church in Waukegan; and |
22 |
| WHEREAS, She was known for her loveable and outgoing |
23 |
| attitude; and |
24 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor was preceded in death by her parents, |
25 |
| Brenda Sydnor and Freddy Grant; and her grandfather Henry |
26 |
| Charles Sydnor; and |
