| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Shirley J. Szabo of |
4 |
| Munster, Indiana, on Sunday, April 16, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on April 26, 1928, in Virden; she was |
6 |
| the mother of United Transportation Union Illinois State |
7 |
| Legislative Director Joe Szabo and was the wife of 57 years of |
8 |
| retired Illinois Central conductor/switchman Joseph F. Szabo |
9 |
| of Local 1299 in Chicago; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Szabo was a member of the First United |
11 |
| Methodist
Church and "Crafty" Ladies; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Shirley J. Szabo has been deeply |
13 |
| felt by many, especially her husband, Joe; her daughters, Jo |
14 |
| Carol (Tom) Clark, Susan (Rick) Stables, and Peggy Szabo; her |
15 |
| sons, Joseph C. Szabo and Clark (Diana) Szabo; her |
16 |
| granddaughters, Megan Stables, and Carly, Tori, and Natalie |
17 |
| Szabo; her sister, Betty Braden; her brother, Donald (Helen) |
18 |
| Clark; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
21 |
| Shirley J. Szabo, and we extend our sincere condolences to her |
22 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
23 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
25 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
26 |
| sympathy.
