| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with regret of the death of Helen Ann Pierce of Dunlap |
4 |
| on Thursday, April 6, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on October 4, 1934, in PeeWee Valley, |
6 |
| Kentucky, to George and Camilla Hodge Baker; she married Marion |
7 |
| Pierce on August 7, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She worked as a school teacher for 50 years in |
9 |
| Dunlap School District 323 and served as Scholastic Bowl coach |
10 |
| until March 2006; she was a member of Prospect United Methodist |
11 |
| Church in Dunlap; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Ann Pierce has been deeply |
13 |
| felt by many, especially her husband, Marion; her children, |
14 |
| Camilla (Jeff) Hempstead, Chester (Jean) Pierce, and Charles |
15 |
| (Jeanette) Pierce; and her grandchildren, Jessica Hempstead, |
16 |
| Jason Hempstead, Alayna Pierce, Alyssa Pierce, and Katie |
17 |
| Pierce; she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, |
18 |
| Phoebe Althaus; and her brother, Charles Baker; therefore, be |
19 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Helen Ann Pierce, and we extend our sincere condolences to her |
23 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
24 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
27 |
| sympathy.
