| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Bertha M. Archibald of |
4 |
| Brimfield on Friday, March 10, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on February 9, 1910, in Hanna City, |
6 |
| to Richard and Hattie Johnson Pillman; she married William A. |
7 |
| Archibald on October 21, 1939, in Keokuk, Iowa; he preceded her |
8 |
| in death on May 21, 1991, in Peoria; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of the Brimfield American Legion |
10 |
| Auxiliary #452, where she was past president of the 16th |
11 |
| District; a member of AMVETS of Peoria Auxiliary; and a former |
12 |
| member of 8et40, Peoria; she was a member of the Manx |
13 |
| Association, Peoria; Brimfield Unit Chairperson for the |
14 |
| Salvation Army; volunteered at Wildlife Prairie State Park; and |
15 |
| was a former member of the Farmington Moose Lodge; she was of |
16 |
| the Methodist faith; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Bertha M. Archibald has been deeply |
18 |
| felt by many, especially her son, Dick (and Marsha) Archibald; |
19 |
| her daughter, Mary Nell (and John) Simpson; her five |
20 |
| grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; her two step |
21 |
| great-grandchildren; and her brother, Russell (and Geraldine) |
22 |
| Pillman; she was also preceded in death by two brothers and two |
23 |
| sisters; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Bertha M. Archibald, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
27 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
28 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
