| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Evelyn E. Young (nee |
4 |
| Jahnsen); and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was married to Edward Young for 70 years when |
6 |
| he preceded her in death in January of 2005; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She was very active in Wesleyan Methodist Church |
8 |
| for many years as both a Sunday School teacher and |
9 |
| Superintendent of the Nursery Department; in later years, she |
10 |
| was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, She was a volunteer for 18 years in senior |
12 |
| programs, such as working as a receptionist for podiatry at the |
13 |
| Stickney Township Senior Health Center, as a member of the |
14 |
| Burbank Senior Home Health Committee, and helping to plan the |
15 |
| Stickney Township Homebound Christmas parties; she also was |
16 |
| involved in helping many charities; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, She was awarded the Service of Mankind Award by |
18 |
| the Burbank Sertoma Club in 1989 and the Valuable Service Award |
19 |
| by the Senior Citizens and Homebound in 1994; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Evelyn E. Young has been deeply |
21 |
| felt by many; she was the beloved wife of the late Edward Young |
22 |
| and the loving mother of Edward (Myrna) Young, Maude (Raymond) |
23 |
| Lozano, Allen (Laurie), Jeanette (the late Charles) Czekala, |
24 |
| Charlotte (the late Charles) Freeman, Robert, Leonard |
25 |
| (Bilinda), the late Evelyn Mimnaugh, and Dorothy (Thomas) |
26 |
| Maurer; she was the devoted mother-in-law of Art Mimnaugh; she |
27 |
| was the cherished grandmother and great grandmother of many; |
28 |
| and she was the fond sister of Wesley (Jeanette) Jahnsen; |
29 |
| therefore, be it
