| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Merle |
4 |
| Moe Boswell of Anna, who passed away on January 25, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Boswell was born on June 22, 1920, in Anna, |
6 |
| the son of C. Lester and Jettie Moe Boswell; he married Betty |
7 |
| June Woodard on December 5, 1941; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a United States veteran of World War II; |
9 |
| and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Boswell was the co-founder and owner of the |
11 |
| Dutzy Burger; he was a member of the First Baptist Church of |
12 |
| Anna; he worked very hard to establish the Veterans Home in |
13 |
| Anna, and he was instrumental in building the Veterans Monument |
14 |
| at the four-way stop in Anna; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Boswell was preceded in death by his parents, |
16 |
| his wife, his brother, C. Leland Boswell, his sister, Mary |
17 |
| Louise Peterson, and a very special friend; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Merle Moe Boswell will be felt by |
19 |
| all who knew and loved him, especially his children, Dixie |
20 |
| Baggott, the Rev. Richard and wife Lynda Boswell, and Merlene |
21 |
| and husband George "Pete" Johnson; his six grandchildren; his |
22 |
| three step-grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his |
23 |
| four step-great-grandchildren; his brothers, John and wife, |
24 |
| Patricia, Boswell and Donald Wayne and wife, Pat, Boswell; his |
25 |
| nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends; therefore, |
26 |
| be it
