SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Lyle F. Scheetz of rural
4 Adrian on Wednesday, February 1, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on December 19, 1920, in Nauvoo to
6 Louis R. and May Kelly Scheetz; he married Virginia Tarry on
7 August 23, 1945, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in
8 Nauvoo; he farmed in the Burnside area for many years; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Scheetz graduated from Nauvoo schools; he
10 valiantly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine
11 Corps from 1942 to 1945 during World War II; the honors he
12 received from the U.S. Marine Corps include the Asiatic Pacific
13 Ribbon with three stars, the Presidential Citation with three
14 stars, two Purple Heart medals, three Stars for Participation
15 Against Enemy Forces, and two Bronze Star medals; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Nauvoo V.F.W. and Hamilton
17 V.F.W. Post #5256, and he enjoyed attending USMC reunions; he
18 was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo
19 and served on the Nauvoo/Colusa school board; he enjoyed
20 playing cards and spending time with family and friends; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Lyle F. Scheetz has been deeply
22 felt by many, especially his wife, Virginia; his daughter,
23 Linda (Tony) Takai; his sons, Ronald (Carla) Scheetz, Jim
24 (MaryJo) Scheetz, and Randy (Rose) Scheetz; his grandchildren,
25 Joe (Tonya) Scheetz, John (Melissa) Scheetz, Jason Scheetz,
26 Katie (Dan) Bendlage, Shelly (J.B.) Hunter, Nancy (Nathan)
27 Huls, Carrie Scheetz, Krista, Lezley, Paul, and Dan Scheetz,
28 and Shawn and Tammi Takai; and his seven great-grandchildren;
29 he was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Irene
30 McCracken; and his brother, Robert Scheetz; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Lyle F. Scheetz, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
4 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5 further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
