| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate learned with
|
3 |
| sadness of the death of Charles C. Jackson, a long-time service |
4 |
| member of the Chicago Police Department; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson, the son of Lloyd and Daisy Jackson, |
6 |
| moved to Chicago in 1947, where he attended Chicago public |
7 |
| schools; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson joined the Chicago Police Department |
9 |
| in 1958; he started as a patrol officer with the motorcycle |
10 |
| division and worked in a variety of divisions, such as |
11 |
| narcotics and the office of Municipal Investigations, under the |
12 |
| late Mayor Harold Washington; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson retired in January 2000 with the rank |
14 |
| of Sergeant after serving 41 years with the Chicago Police |
15 |
| Department; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson is survived by his loving wife of 38 |
17 |
| years, Irene Jackson; his sons, Charles C. Jackson Jr. and |
18 |
| Craig C. Jackson; his daughter, Ladonna "Terry" Evelyn and |
19 |
| son-in-law, Jerry Evelyn; his sister, Juanita Williams; his |
20 |
| grandsons, Charles C. Jackson III and Terrence Evelyn; his |
21 |
| nephew Donald Williams; and a host of family and friends; |
22 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
25 |
| Charles C. Jackson, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
26 |
| his family and friends; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the family of Charles C. Jackson as an expression |
29 |
| of our respect for the life of a dedicated public servant.
