SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of O'Neal Pritchett Jr. on
4 January 17, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, O'Neal Pritchett Jr. was born on November 1, 1937,
6 in Mobile, Alabama, to Marie Pritchett and O'Neal Pritchett
7 Sr.; and
 
8     WHEREAS, A man of many skills and trades, Mr. Pritchett was
9 employed by several employers during his life in Illinois,
10 including Great Lakes, Lake County Community Action Project
11 (Headstart), First Corinthian Church, and Ebenezer Church; he
12 loved and enjoyed his power washing and carpet cleaning
13 business; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mr. Pritchett was a member of the First Corinthian
15 M.B. Church; he served in numerous ministries within the
16 church, including Church Janitor, President of Voices of
17 Corinthian, Sunday School Teacher, and Trustee member; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, O'Neal
19 Pritchett Sr.; his mother, Marie Williams; his brothers, Robert
20 Dozen, Arthur Mitchell, and Joe Williams; his special and dear
21 friend, Ms. Jackie Robinson; and his longtime friends,
22 Vanderbilt Blanchard Jr. and John A. McBride; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of O'Neal Pritchett, Jr. is felt by
24 all who knew and loved him, especially his daughters, Nealetta,
25 Andrea, Donna, and Althea; his son, Kent Richardson; his
26 brothers, John (Dorothy) Williams, Ernest (Thelma) Williams,
27 Clyde (Betty) Mitchell, and Zion (Bernita) Mitchell; his
28 sister, Angie Pritchett; his sisters-in-law, Aneses Williams
29 and Carolyn Mitchell; and his many grandchildren and nieces and
30 nephews; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
3 O'Neal Pritchett Jr. and extend our sincerest condolences to
4 his family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
