| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Amelia C. Unes of West |
4 |
| Peoria on January 28, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Amelia C. Unes was born on January 10, 1914, on a |
6 |
| farm in Dale, North Dakota, to Khaliel Milheim and Catherine |
7 |
| Katour Mawoud Williams; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She married Fred S. Unes in 1962 in North Pekin; |
9 |
| he preceded her in death on April 17, 1973; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Unes authored the book "Bet Milheim Younes |
11 |
| Williams", a Williams family history, with the help of a |
12 |
| special niece and nephew; she also authored a book on the Unes |
13 |
| family; both books were placed in the International Historical |
14 |
| Society through the Minneapolis Historical Society; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Unes was a member of St. Mark's Catholic |
16 |
| Church; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Amelia C. Unes is felt by all who |
18 |
| knew and loved her, especially her sister, Lila Vickerman; her |
19 |
| stepdaughter, Carla Peterson; her stepson, Fred Joel Unes; her |
20 |
| three step-grandchildren; and her many loving nieces and |
21 |
| nephews; in addition to her husband, Mrs. Unes was preceded in |
22 |
| death by her six brothers and two sisters and her nephew; |
23 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Amelia C. Unes and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
27 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
