| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Vernell |
4 |
| "Bud" Baggett of Herrin, who passed away on January 19, 2006; |
5 |
| and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Baggett was born on April 25, 1919, in |
7 |
| Brookport, to John and Edith (Henley) Baggett; he married |
8 |
| Geneel Housewright in 1940; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Baggett was a World War II Army veteran; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his wife, |
11 |
| Geneel, his daughter, Joyce Ann Butcher, his parents, and his |
12 |
| brother, Russell Baggett; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Vernell "Bud" Baggett will be felt |
14 |
| by all who knew and loved him, especially his daughters, |
15 |
| Jeanette Sollami and Susie Cannon; his sons, Michael Baggett |
16 |
| and Randy Baggett; his grandchildren, Kendra, David, and Jeff |
17 |
| Butcher, Madeline Taitt, Jason and Erin Baggett, Shana and |
18 |
| Justin Cannon, and Logan and Colin Baggett; his 10 |
19 |
| great-grandchildren; his very dear friend, Billy Bob Helms; and |
20 |
| his faithful companion, Little Bit; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
23 |
| all who knew and loved him, the death of Vernell "Bud" Baggett; |
24 |
| and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to his family.
