| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with regret of the recent death in Iraq of U.S. Army |
4 |
| Sergeant First Class Shawn Christopher Dostie, formerly of |
5 |
| Granite City; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd |
7 |
| Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne |
8 |
| Division based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; he entered the U.S. |
9 |
| Army in 1991, advancing quickly, and arrived at Fort Campbell |
10 |
| in January of 2005; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, He spent his first three years of high school in |
12 |
| Granite City, while his father, now a retired sergeant first |
13 |
| class, worked at the Army Personnel Center in St. Louis; in |
14 |
| 1990, he and his family moved to Maine, the state where he was |
15 |
| born; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Sergeant First Class Shawn |
17 |
| Christopher Dostie has been deeply felt by many, especially his |
18 |
| wife, Stephanie Dostie; his children, Cameron and Bayleigh; his |
19 |
| parents, Robert Fugere and Delanie Fugere; and his sister, |
20 |
| Crystal Desrosiers; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Sergeant First Class Shawn Christopher Dostie, and we extend |
24 |
| our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who |
25 |
| knew and loved him; and be it further |
26 |
| RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Dostie and |
27 |
| his willingness to serve his country, which led to him making |
28 |
| the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
