| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of the Reverend Dennis J. |
4 |
| Young of Godfrey on Monday, December 5, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born June 5, 1949, in St. Louis to James A. |
6 |
| and Betty (Elz) Young; he married Dr. Vivian Moynihan on June |
7 |
| 4, 1988, in Alton; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He celebrated 25 years of being a Lutheran |
9 |
| minister on November 9, 2005; he attended Concordia University, |
10 |
| Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, and Christ Seminary Seminex; |
11 |
| he was active on the board of Family Services-Headstart and in |
12 |
| the Joint Lutheran Episcopal Bible class; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was the pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church |
14 |
| in Godfrey for almost 20 years; he was very good at grief |
15 |
| counseling and was a loving man who would stand up to proclaim |
16 |
| his faith; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Reverend Young has been deeply felt |
18 |
| by many, especially his wife, Vivian; his mother, Betty; his |
19 |
| sisters-in-law; his brothers-in-law; and his nieces and |
20 |
| nephews; he was preceded in death by his father and his sister, |
21 |
| Denise Camden; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| the Reverend Dennis J. Young, and we extend our sincere |
25 |
| condolences to his family, friends, congregation, and |
26 |
| community; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
29 |
| sympathy.
