SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death in Iraq of Lance Corporal Adam
4 W. Kaiser of Naperville on Thursday, December 1, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Kaiser was assigned to the 2nd
6 Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine
7 Expeditionary Force, out of Twentynine Palms, California; the
8 unit was attached to the Regimental Combat Team 8, which is
9 part of the II Marine Expeditionary Force base at Camp Lejeune,
10 North Carolina; his regiment was nicknamed the "War Dogs"; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Since the age of three, he had wanted to be a
12 Marine when he grew up; he always enjoyed watching programs on
13 military history, which sharpened his drive and goal to join
14 the U.S. Marines; to aid him in his effort, he ran every other
15 night, lifted weights, and practiced Tae Kwon Do, earning a
16 black belt in just a year and a half; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He graduated from Naperville Central High School
18 in 2004, where he was known as quiet with an intense focus on
19 his goals; and
 
20     WHEREAS, His awards include the National Defense Service
21 Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the War on
22 Terrorism Service Medal; and
 
23     WHEREAS, In tribute to his son, his father, Wade, said,
24 "Adam spilled his blood on foreign soil to free millions of
25 others from tyranny. Adam is now part of the history of the
26 U.S. Marine Corps. He is part of the honor and tradition."; and
 
27     WHEREAS, The passing of Lance Corporal Kaiser has been
28 deeply felt by many, especially his parents, Wade and
29 Christine; his sister, Sarah; and his twin sister, Amanda;

1 therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 Lance Corporal Adam W. Kaiser, and we extend our sincere
5 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
6 him; and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal Kaiser
8 and his willingness to serve his country, which led to him
9 making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
12 sympathy.
