| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Betty M. Shea of Peoria on |
4 |
| November 18, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born June 20, 1922, in LaSalle, to Herbert |
6 |
| and Marie Jacobs; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She attended Bradley University and continued to |
8 |
| be an avid lifetime Bradley Braves sports fan; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, She was a sales clerk at Bergner's for 32 years, |
10 |
| retiring in 1998; she also had been an activity therapist for |
11 |
| the State of Illinois at Zeller Mental Health Clinic; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. |
13 |
| Philomena Catholic Church;
she volunteered at the St. Jude |
14 |
| Peoria Run office, Wildlife Prairie Park, Meals on Wheels, and |
15 |
| was involved with the Bergner's Retiree Club; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Betty Shea is felt by all who knew |
17 |
| and loved her, especially her son, Tim (Leslie) Shea; her |
18 |
| daughters, Chris (Bob) Taylor and Linda (Alan) Berry; her eight |
19 |
| grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, |
20 |
| Herbert Jacobs; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Betty Shea and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, |
24 |
| friends, and community; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
27 |
| sympathy.
