| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Everette "Pete" Flessinger |
4 |
| of Cairo on November 25, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Flessinger was born October 3, 1922, in Lowes, |
6 |
| Kentucky, the son of the late Ed Flessinger and Frussie |
7 |
| (McGowan) Flessinger; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a retired laborer from a paper mill; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the Church of Christ in Cairo, |
10 |
| attended Happy Days Senior Citizens Center in Cairo, and was a |
11 |
| musician for 44 years and had played with T.J. Meredith, a |
12 |
| lifelong friend from Evansville, Indiana; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Lee |
14 |
| Flessinger, and his sisters, Gena, Dorothy, and Anna Neal; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Everette "Pete" Flessinger is felt |
16 |
| by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Mary K. |
17 |
| (Stuart) Flessinger; his sons, Charles Flessinger, Stephen |
18 |
| Flessinger, and David Stuart; his daughters, Betty Heflin and |
19 |
| Belva Thorpe; his brother, Aubrey Flessinger; his sister, |
20 |
| Bertha Moallankamp; the mother of the Flessinger children, |
21 |
| Gladys Rogers; his 11 grandchildren; his 25 |
22 |
| great-grandchildren; and his other relatives; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Everette Flessinger and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
26 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
