| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Matthew Grawey of Dunlap |
4 |
| on November 14, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Grawey was born August 9, 1983, in Peoria, to |
6 |
| Richard and Anne Carmichael Grawey; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a 2001 graduate of Peoria Notre Dame and a |
8 |
| recent graduate of Knox College, where he had received a |
9 |
| bachelor's degree in political science and international |
10 |
| relations; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, He had planned to attend law school, as he found |
12 |
| great pleasure in debate and communication; he had an early and |
13 |
| intense interest in politics and began to volunteer and |
14 |
| vigorously campaign in elections large and small as an |
15 |
| adolescent; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He was employed by Peoria District 150 as a |
17 |
| substitute teacher at Garfield Primary School and was a member |
18 |
| of The Universalist Unitarian Church; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Matthew Grawey is felt by all who |
20 |
| knew and loved him, especially his parents; his sisters, |
21 |
| Madeline and Ericka; and his grandmother, Elizabeth |
22 |
| Carmichael; and
|
23 |
| WHEREAS, He lived and loved every second and the people he |
24 |
| touched will always remember his life, love, and enthusiasm; |
25 |
| therefore, be it |
