| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express |
| 3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Emma |
| 4 |
| Merlock, who passed away on March 6, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Emma Merlock was born on April 19, 1910, in |
| 6 |
| Bradley, to John and Mary Jerina; she spent her childhood in |
| 7 |
| Owen, Wisconsin, and moved to the Waukegan/North Chicago area |
| 8 |
| as a young woman; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Emma Merlock married Frank I. Merlock on September |
| 10 |
| 6, 1931; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Merlock was an active member of her |
| 12 |
| community; she was a member of St. Anne KSKJ Society, St. Roch |
| 13 |
| Society, and the Christian Mothers Sodality of Mother of God |
| 14 |
| Church; she was a parishioner of Queen of Peace Church; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Emma Merlock was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 16 |
| Frank, her parents, and her sisters, Mary Kinsey and Jennie |
| 17 |
| Mulligan; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Emma Merlock will be felt by all |
| 19 |
| who knew and loved her, especially her children, Frank (Mary) |
| 20 |
| Merlock, Blanche (Gene) Ptasienski, and Jim (Kathie) Merlock; |
| 21 |
| her grandchildren, Bill (Deb), Tony (Caron), Frank Al |
| 22 |
| (Kaitlyn), Alan (Nancy Kawa), and Jay Merlock, and Greg (Diane) |
| 23 |
| and Walt Ptasienski, Sandy (Mike) Cairns, and Megan (Randal) |
| 24 |
| Unsell; her 18 great-grandchildren; her 3 |
| 25 |
| great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sophie Mivshek, |

| Frances (Bill) Hernersbach, and Anne (Tony) Lesnak; and her |
