| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Robert E. "Sparrow" |
4 |
| Campbell of East St. Louis; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Edward Campbell was born on March 23, 1931 |
6 |
| in East St. Louis, the son of Mose Campbell, Sr. and Dorothy O. |
7 |
| McWilson Campbell; he was the third born of fourteen children; |
8 |
| and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell attended East St. Louis public |
10 |
| schools; he worked for the East Side Levy District, now called |
11 |
| the Metro-East Sanitary District; he was a member of Holy |
12 |
| Church of Christ Commandment of God since 1985; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell was known as "Sparrow" by his friends |
14 |
| and family; he was a gentle man who found joy in living a |
15 |
| simple life; he loved music, especially jazz, and enjoyed |
16 |
| playing checkers and other board games; he enjoyed socializing |
17 |
| and participating in activities at the St. Clair Adult Daycare |
18 |
| Center; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert E. Campbell has been deeply |
20 |
| felt and his memory will be cherished by many, especially his |
21 |
| sisters, Selena R. Campbell and Olivia A. Campbell; his |
22 |
| brothers, Raymond S. Campbell and Johnny E. Campbell; his |
23 |
| sister and brother-in-law, Gloria C. White and Johnny Jordan; |
24 |
| three generations of nieces and nephews; his friend, Lula |
25 |
| Coleman and her family, who rendered compassionate, loving, and |
26 |
| prayerful dedicated service to Mr. Campbell; and host of other |
27 |
| relatives and friends; therefore, be it
