| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mary A. Atchison of |
| 4 |
| Benton, on October 1, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in Wadestown, West Virginia, on May |
| 6 |
| 14, 1923, to Frank and Bertha (Copeland) Horner; she married |
| 7 |
| Cecil L. Atchison September 22, 1950, in Chicago; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of the First Church of the |
| 9 |
| Nazarene in Benton; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; five |
| 11 |
| brothers, Clyde, Bill, Hank, Robert, and George; and four |
| 12 |
| sisters, Thelma, Rose, Katherine, and Clara; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mary A. Atchison will be felt by |
| 14 |
| all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Cecil L. |
| 15 |
| Atchison; her daughter, Connie (Craig) Cook; her sons, the Rev. |
| 16 |
| Cecil Robert (Sharon) Atchison and David (Gloria) Atchison; |
| 17 |
| five grandchildren, Kent (Terra) Atchison, Christie Cook, |
| 18 |
| Jimmy Cook, Dr. Steve (Becky) Blanford, and David Blanford; |
| 19 |
| four great-grandchildren, Lillian and Eliza Atchison, Dalton |
| 20 |
| and Riley Blanford; and a sister, Pamela (Robert) LaRocca; |
| 21 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
|
| 24 |
| Mary A. Atchison and we extend our sincerest condolences to her
|
| 25 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
|
| 27 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
|
| 28 |
| sympathy.
