| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Gabriel (Vallianatos) |
4 |
| Vallas of Brimfield on Thursday, September 22, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas was born on August 17, 1921, in |
6 |
| Williamsfield to Noufris and Mary Ensley Vallas; he married |
7 |
| Idora E. Clark on August 22, 1942; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas worked for N.E. Finch for twenty-five |
9 |
| years; in 1984, he retired as a truck driver; he was a member |
10 |
| of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas was a member and past Worthy President |
12 |
| of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 265 in Peoria; he was |
13 |
| also a member of Horeb Lodge 363 AF&AM in Elmwood and an |
14 |
| associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Vallas attended Edwards United methodist |
16 |
| Church in Edwards; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, |
18 |
| George, a grandson, five brothers, and one sister; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Gabriel (Vallianatos) Vallas has |
20 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially his daughter, Donna Sue |
21 |
| (Dennis) Hopwood; his three sons, Carl (Paula) Vallianatos, |
22 |
| Kenneth (Janet) Vallas, and Donald (Janet) Vallianatos; his |
23 |
| four sisters; his brother; his thirteen grandchildren; his |
24 |
| nineteen great-grandchildren; and his great-great grandson; |
25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
28 |
| Gabriel (Vallianatos) Vallas, and we extend our sincerest |
