| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Mrs. Blondell Luster on |
4 |
| August 9, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on January 17, 1927, in Chicago to |
6 |
| Maddie and Ephrin Polk; she received her education in Chicago, |
7 |
| and at the age of 20, she married Freddie Luster; he preceded |
8 |
| her in death; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, She was an active and devout member and supporter |
10 |
| of St. Dorothy Catholic Church; she was greatly loved, admired, |
11 |
| and respected by her family, her employees, church members, and |
12 |
| many friends; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She had many talents, including sewing, knitting, |
14 |
| crocheting, and furniture refinishing, and she shared these |
15 |
| talents by teaching sewing, knitting, and crocheting classes in |
16 |
| the projects; she loved to entertain and serve fresh, |
17 |
| home-cooked meals; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Blondell Luster has been deeply |
19 |
| felt by many, especially her sons, Jory and Freddie; her |
20 |
| daughter, Sonja; her brothers-in-law, Precious, Herb, and |
21 |
| Stephen; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Carney, Shirley Stewart, |
22 |
| Doris Reeves, and Helen Hall; her grandchildren, Freddie III, |
23 |
| Jory Jr., Christopher, Theresa, and Simone; and her many nieces |
24 |
| and nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
27 |
| Blondell Luster, and we extend our sincere condolences to her |
28 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
