SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Floyd Ray Sullivan of
4 Royalton on Thursday, August 25, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on December 27, 1941, in Corinth to
6 Alvi Wayne and Ruby Melvina (Goings) Sullivan; he married
7 Paulette Pedigo on June 7, 1959, in Benton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was a member and Deacon of the Royalton First
9 Baptist Church; he was a lifetime honorary member of the
10 Royalton Firefighters; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He had worked as a heavy machine operator and
12 welder in DeKalb; he was a welder all of his life and a welding
13 instructor at John A. Logan College for four years and at
14 DuQuoin High School as a teacher for 10 years, where he was
15 known as "Judge Roy Bean"; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Sullivan has been deeply felt
17 by many, especially his wife, Paulette; his daughters and
18 sons-in-law, Lori and Randy Ash, Tina and Jim Howe, Missy and
19 George Shread, and Carol Allen; his sons and daughters-in-law,
20 Daniel and Marla Sullivan, Steve and Teresa Richard, and
21 Jeremiah and Kris Sullivan; his grandchildren, Joshua and Amy
22 Dugger, Charity and Mario Ramos, Seth Dugger, Tia Laird,
23 Danielle and Jordan Sullivan, Keyara Richard, George Albert
24 Shread, III, Daniel Tanner, Jessie Michael Shread, Hannah
25 Sullivan, and Isaiah and Jaxon Allen; his great-grandchildren,
26 Ciara Dugger, and Aliegha, Savanah, and Malachi Ramos; his
27 brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddie and Martha Sullivan and
28 Philip and Jean Sullivan; his sisters and brothers-in-law,
29 Madlyn and Danzyle McClintock and Virginia Dorris; and his many
30 nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents and
31 his brothers, Harvey and Kenneth Sullivan; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Floyd Ray Sullivan, and we extend our sincere condolences to
4 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5 further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
