| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mike Kimmel of Benton on |
4 |
| September 1, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Kimmel was born October 23, 1924, in Benton, |
6 |
| the son of Raleigh and Bertha (Vaughn) Kimmel; he married the |
7 |
| former Shirley Sullenger on May 25, 1951; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Benton High School in 1943 and |
9 |
| then served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1943 |
10 |
| to 1945; he used the GI Bill to attend St. Louis College of |
11 |
| Pharmacy from 1946 to 1950; he was in the pharmacy profession |
12 |
| for 55 years and opened Kimmel-Chaplain Pharmacy in 1966; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his |
14 |
| brother, Jack V. Kimmel; and his sister, Mary Catherine Caulk; |
15 |
| and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mike Kimmel is felt by all who knew |
17 |
| and loved him, especially his wife, Shirley; his sons and |
18 |
| daughters-in-law, Greg and Jody Kimmel and Jeff and Walli |
19 |
| Kimmel; his grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Kimmel Chanvita-yapongs |
20 |
| and husband Ronnie, Tyler, Kayla, and Kyle Kimmel; and his |
21 |
| niece, Marilyn Paisley and husband Bob; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| Mike Kimmel and extend our sincerest condolences to his family, |
25 |
| friends, and community; and be it further
|
26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
28 |
| sympathy.
