| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the untimely death of Cathy L. Cameron |
4 |
| of Chicago on Wednesday, June 22, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She received her B.A. degree in French from the |
6 |
| University of Iowa and her M.B.A. in international marketing |
7 |
| from Northern Illinois University; she was employed by Ideal |
8 |
| Industries in its International Division for three years; she |
9 |
| had been a cherished colleague as a Business Development |
10 |
| Officer of the Canadian Consulate General in Chicago for the |
11 |
| last nine years; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Cameron was a very unique woman: creative, |
13 |
| conscientious, generous of spirit, very competent, and always |
14 |
| gracious no matter the task, how demanding her clients were, or |
15 |
| how great her work load; with her extensive and profound |
16 |
| knowledge of the agriculture and agri-business sectors in the |
17 |
| Midwest, she won the deepest respect from her colleagues and |
18 |
| her enormous range of contacts and clients in both Canada and |
19 |
| the United States; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, She organized the most recent Taste of Atlantic |
21 |
| Canada event, which was outstanding and judged by all attendees |
22 |
| to be the best event that has ever been hosted by the Consulate |
23 |
| General; she made the lives of the people she touched in both |
24 |
| Canada and the United States better; her spirit of giving |
25 |
| continued by the donation of her organs through the Trillium |
26 |
| Gift of Life Network; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her paternal |
28 |
| grandparents, Alex and Lois Cameron, and her maternal |
29 |
| grandparents, Dr. Howard and Cynthia Fike; and
|
30 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Cathy L. Cameron has been deeply |
