| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Walter H. "Wuzzy" Meister |
4 |
| of Peoria on Tuesday, August 16, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Meister was born on May 24, 1931, in Peoria to |
6 |
| David W. Sr. and Lillian M. Kaufman Meister; he married Jean A. |
7 |
| Watkins on November 23, 1964, in Eureka; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the |
9 |
| U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was the founder and owner |
10 |
| of Meister Plumbing, where he worked until he retired in 2003; |
11 |
| and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Sheridan Road Apostolic |
13 |
| Christian Church in Peoria; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Walter Meister has been deeply felt |
15 |
| by many, especially his wife, Jean; his son, Raymond (and |
16 |
| Eileen); his daughters, Renee (and Michael) Brown and Gay |
17 |
| Closen; his six grandchildren, including Brooke Closen, whom he |
18 |
| raised; and his brother, Ed (and Bernie); he was preceded in |
19 |
| death by three brothers and one sister; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Walter H. "Wuzzy" Meister, and we extend our sincere |
23 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
24 |
| him; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
27 |
| sympathy.
