| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Barbara May White of |
4 |
| Carterville on August 5, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. White was born December 16, 1938, in |
6 |
| Kinmundy, to Clyde and Freda (Lenhart) Garrett; she married |
7 |
| James E. White on July 19, 1958, in Kinmundy; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She was a homemaker and had worked in the catalog |
9 |
| office at Sears for many years; she enjoyed cooking, children, |
10 |
| and babysitting, and especially enjoyed taking care of her |
11 |
| grandchildren; she was a member of First United Methodist |
12 |
| Church in Carterville and delivered Meals on Wheels for the |
13 |
| church for 10 years; she was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi |
14 |
| Sorority in Carbondale; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde |
16 |
| Garrett; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Barbara White is felt by all who |
18 |
| knew and loved her, especially her husband, James; her daughter |
19 |
| and son-in-law, Traci and Glenn Edwards; her son and |
20 |
| daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shannon White; her mother, Freda |
21 |
| Garrett; her grandchildren, Bryn Edwards and Connor Edwards; |
22 |
| and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Larry |
23 |
| Shanafelt and Lila and Stan Knecht; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Barbara White and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
27 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
