| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Donna Kaye Smith of Benton |
4 |
| on August 1, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Donna Kaye Smith was born April 12, 1944, in |
6 |
| Marion, the daughter of Barney and Zella (Egner) Joyner; she |
7 |
| married Dick Smith on May 29, 1970; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She retired as a real estate agent for Don |
9 |
| Browning Real Estate in Benton and was a member of First |
10 |
| Baptist Church in Benton; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, She will be remembered as the lady with a |
12 |
| wonderful smile and a million dollar laugh; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Donna Kaye Smith is felt by all who |
15 |
| knew and loved her, especially her husband, Dick; her daughter, |
16 |
| Valarie Durham; her son, Scott Ralls and wife Andrea; her |
17 |
| stepson, Charles Byron Smith; her grandchildren, Emma Kaye |
18 |
| Ralls, Sidney Ralls, and Joshua, Alex, and Anna Smith; her |
19 |
| sister, Carolyn Sue and husband Bill Schmidt; and her nieces |
20 |
| and nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Donna Kaye Smith and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
24 |
| family and friends; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
27 |
| sympathy.
