SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Anthony "Tony" Ventimiglia
4 of Alton on August 1, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Ventimiglia was born December 24, 1923, in
6 Alton, to Anthony "Tony" and Mary (Pinta) Ventimiglia; he
7 married Frances Jane Allen of Alton on May 11, 1943 in Canyon
8 City, Texas, who preceded him in death after 50 years of
9 marriage; he married Vera Willmore Randolph on September 27,
10 1997 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World
12 War II and was a member of American Legion Alton Post 126 and
13 the Fraternal Order of Eagles Alton Lodge 254; he was employed
14 at Schaffner Music Company for 34 years as a service technician
15 until retiring in 1984; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his first wife; his
17 parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Marilyn
18 Ventimiglia; and his special brother-in-law, Louis Mottes; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Anthony Ventimiglia is felt by all
20 who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Vera; his children
21 from his first marriage, Tony and Sheila Ventimiglia, Vicki and
22 Carl Robison, Mary Jane and Ray Hettick, and Jackie and Randy
23 Hettick; his grandchildren, Bryan and Amanda Lankford,
24 Jennifer, Christina, and A.J. Ventimiglia, Michael and Jayla
25 Robison, Michele and Brian Taylor, and Lauren and Lindsay
26 Hettick; his great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sara Lankford,
27 Katelyn and Matthew Robison, and Austin and Megan Taylor; his
28 stepchildren, John and Vickie Uram, D'Ann Vinyard, and Devon
29 and Gail Randolph; his eight step-grandchildren; his 18
30 stepgreat-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Mottes and
31 Josephine Ventimiglia; his nephew and wife, Paul and Frannie

1 Ventimiglia; his nieces and their husbands, Marianne and Randy
2 Weigler and Andrea and Butch Weirich; his great-nieces and
3 great-nephews; his cousins; and his other extended family and
4 many friends; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7 Anthony Ventimiglia and extend our sincerest condolences to his
8 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
11 sympathy.
